Blue Star Helium is set to begin drilling operations at two sites—Jackson #31 and Jackson #04—in January 2025.

The Galactica helium project, located in Las Animas County, Colorado, has seen considerable progress, with site access and construction of the well pad at Jackson #31 now in progress. Blue Star Helium plans to drill a total of five wells during this campaign, with the initial drilling scheduled to begin at Jackson #31 in mid-January 2025. The next phase of work will focus on completing civil works at Jackson #31 before moving on to preparations at the Jackson #04 site.

This project is a key part of Blue Star Helium’s strategy to enhance its helium supply capacity in North America.

The drilling campaign, which is expected to span several months, is aimed at bolstering Blue Star Helium’s helium supply chain and positioning the company as a key player in the growing North American helium market. The company has stated that it will closely monitor weather conditions to ensure that operations proceed as planned and will provide further updates regarding the sequencing of the remaining three wells after the completion of Jackson #04.

Helium One Global has recognized Blue Star Helium's announcement about the progress of the Galactica-Pegasus project in the same region. This collaboration highlights the growing interest and investment in helium exploration in the region, which has been identified as a critical area for helium production.

The decision to move forward with this drilling campaign comes at a time when helium demand is surging globally, driven by its use in a variety of industries, including healthcare, technology, and aerospace. With helium reserves becoming increasingly scarce, projects like Galactica are essential for ensuring a steady supply of this vital gas.

Blue Star Helium has made considerable strides in advancing its Colorado projects, with a focus on responsible development and efficient extraction processes. The company’s ability to secure approvals for multiple wells within the Galactica project area demonstrates both its operational expertise and its growing presence in the helium industry.

As Blue Star Helium proceeds with its drilling operations, the success of this campaign could pave the way for further expansion in the region, helping to meet the increasing global demand for helium. The company’s commitment to its Galactica helium project marks a significant step in its broader strategy to become a leading supplier of helium in North America and beyond.
