BCL Industries Limited, a leading producer of grain-based ethanol in India, is planning an ambitious expansion in the green energy sector with its Bathinda distillery.

The company will increase its ethanol production capacity in Bathinda substantially. The distillery will see its capacity rise from 400 kiloliters per day (KLPD) to 550 KLPD. Furthermore, BCL is making significant strides in developing a new 250 KLPD grain-based ethanol plant at its recently acquired site in Haryana.

These combined expansions will elevate BCL's total distillery capacity from the current 700 KLPD to an impressive 1100 KLPD soon, further cementing its leadership in the grain-based ethanol sector. BCL also operates a 300 KLPD distillery in Kharagpur, West Bengal.

Founded in 1975, BCL has evolved from a regional enterprise to a nationally recognized ethanol manufacturer, playing a vital role in reducing India's reliance on fuel imports and bolstering the national economy.

In addition to ethanol, BCL is aggressively pursuing green energy initiatives. Construction of a 75 KLPD bio-diesel plant at the Bathinda distillery is progressing rapidly. Further demonstrating its commitment to sustainable energy, the Kharagpur distillery has also received approval for the establishment of a 75 KLPD bio-diesel plant. These projects underscore BCL's dedication to providing sustainable energy solutions and solidifying its position as a leader in the industry.

Rajinder Mittal, Managing Director of BCL Industries, emphasized the company's commitment to innovation and excellence throughout its five-decade journey at a recent company event. "BCL has achieved significant milestones over the past fifty years, demonstrating resilience and adaptability," Mittal stated. "Our journey reflects a continuous evolution... ensuring that BCL remains at the forefront of production excellence in the distillery industry."

Beyond ethanol production, BCL is actively diversifying its portfolio within the green energy domain. Mittal highlighted the company's strategic focus on building strong customer relationships, stating, "Technology has advanced the way businesses operate, yet we still prioritize direct engagement with our customers. Building lasting partnerships remains central to our business philosophy.”

The company's expansion plans are not merely about increasing production capacity; they represent a strategic investment in India's green energy future. By increasing its bio-diesel and ethanol production, BCL is contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable energy landscape. The company’s focus on grain-based ethanol also addresses the critical issue of fuel import dependence, strengthening India's energy security.

BCL Industries Limited is a prominent Indian company with a diverse portfolio encompassing edible oils, rice milling, grain-based distilleries, and real estate. 1 Established in 1976, it has grown into a major player in the agro-processing sector, particularly known for its significant ethanol production.
