Bastion Minerals is optimistic about uncovering additional mineralized deposits within its ICE Copper-Gold Project in western Canada, following the identification of 11 promising exploration targets. The ICE project, despite its potential, has undergone limited exploration beyond the currently known deposit area, with less than 1% of the property drill-tested. This leaves vast unexplored regions, offering substantial opportunities to extend the known resource and identify new zones of volcanic-hosted massive sulfide (VHMS) mineralization.
The company has laid out a comprehensive strategy to realize this potential. A key step involves validating the re-assaying of historical core samples, which is currently underway. This initiative is expected to contribute to a new mineral resource estimate, scheduled for completion by early Q1 2025. Alongside this, Bastion plans to reprocess historical electromagnetic (EM) and magnetic survey data to refine exploration and drilling targets. This refined data will play a critical role in shaping a focused and effective drilling program.
Once these preparations are complete, Bastion will proceed with submitting a class three drill permit application, aiming for a northern summer 2025 field campaign. In parallel, a detailed fieldwork program is planned for April-May 2025, encompassing advanced geological mapping, induced polarization (IP) and EM geophysical surveys, and soil geochemistry. These activities will generate critical data to enhance understanding of the property’s geological framework and refine drilling locations. Once the additional geophysical and geochemical studies are concluded, the company will initiate a robust drilling program at the ICE project.
Executive Chairman Ross Landles underscored the immense potential of the project, emphasizing the significance of the untested geophysical and geochemical anomalies. “With less than 1% of the project area drilled outside of the resource and having identified 11 promising targets, the potential for new discoveries is substantial,” Landles stated. “We believe these untested anomalies provide excellent drill targets, and we are confident in the future of the project as we continue our exploration efforts throughout 2025.”
He further highlighted the broader potential of the ICE Copper-Gold Project, noting its highly prospective nature for additional mineralized deposits. “With substantial unexplored areas combined with historical data indicating potential for VHMS-style mineralization, the company is well-positioned to expand its resource base,” Landles added.
