On September 25, 2024, Avient Corporation, a leading provider of specialty and sustainable material solutions, announced the expansion of its NEU™ Custom Capabilities and NEUSoft™ Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) production for catheter applications at its Suzhou, China facility. The announcement aligns with Avient's involvement in Medtec China 2024, one of the leading medical technology exhibitions in the country.

For 35 years, Avient’s NEU business has been providing catheter material solutions to the healthcare industry. NEUSoft TPUs are ultra-low durometer formulations designed for short-term in-vivo catheter applications such as cardiovascular, intravenous, and specialty devices. These materials offer high elasticity, abrasion and tear resistance, UV stability, and moisture and oxygen barrier properties, and are certified for biocompatibility per ISO 10993 and USP Class VI standards. They can be customized with radiopacifiers, colors, and other additives to suit specific applications, and can be overmolded onto various substrates like TPU and Nylon, enabling the creation of complex medical devices.

The Suzhou facility operates under ISO 13485 certification, ensuring adherence to top medical device manufacturing standards. It includes climate-controlled environments, optimized operational flow for product consistency, and a specialized production room.

Avient will showcase its NEUSoft solutions along with other specialty and sustainable materials at Medtec China 2024, in Hall H2, Booth 2D411, at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center from September 25-27, 2024.
