Argyle Resources has recently announced its acquisition of three silica projects in Quebec, Canada, marking a significant expansion for the company into the critical metals sector. The acquisition, valued at C$150,000 ($109,786) along with the issuance of 750,000 common shares of Argyle, secures a 100% interest in the Matapedia, Lac Comporte, and Pilgrim Island Quartzite Silica projects from Charlevoix Silica.

The Matapedia silica property covers 912.8 hectares and is strategically located just 36 kilometers from Grand-Métis, with convenient access via municipal roads. Its proximity to silica, limestone, and aluminous claystones offers promising opportunities for industrial applications. Moreover, the presence of local port and railway infrastructure enhances the property’s potential for exporting minerals to key markets such as the Great Lakes and eastern US.

Moving to the Lac Comporte Project, spanning 1,945 hectares in the Charlevoix-Est region, and the Pilgrim Islands Project, covering 810 hectares in the Kamouraska regional county municipality, these acquisitions further bolster Argyle’s foothold in Quebec’s mineral-rich landscape.

To fully explore and evaluate the mineral potential of these properties, Argyle has partnered with the National Institute of Scientific Research (INRS). This collaboration will facilitate an extensive exploration campaign encompassing geophysical surveys, geological mapping, and various sampling and analytical studies, including X-ray fluorescence.

The INRS team, under the leadership of Marc Richer-Laflèche, a seasoned expert in geological and geophysical analysis for industrial-grade silica projects, is well-prepared with advanced equipment like portable gas analyzers and specialized sampling tools. Their capabilities extend to conducting thorough fieldwork both on land and in aquatic environments, ensuring comprehensive data collection and analysis.

Commenting on the acquisition, Jeff Stevens, CEO of Argyle Resources, emphasized the company’s strategic focus on critical metals and its commitment to expanding its portfolio with high-potential assets. “Argyle Resources was purpose-built to explore and identify prospective assets in the critical metals space,” stated Stevens. “Acquiring the Matapedia, Lac Comporte, and Pilgrim Island Quartzite Silica projects in Quebec, alongside our established Frenchvale Graphite property in Nova Scotia, strengthens our portfolio for the benefit of shareholders, providing exposure to two strategically important critical metals.”

In conclusion, Argyle Resources’ acquisition of the three silica projects in Quebec underscores its proactive approach to portfolio diversification and strategic expansion in the critical metals sector. With robust exploration plans in collaboration with INRS and a clear focus on maximizing the potential of these assets, Argyle is poised to unlock significant value for its shareholders while contributing to the sustainable development of Canada’s mineral resources.
