Aekyung Petrochemical Restarts Plasticizer Production Activities

Aekyung Petrochemical, a prominent subsidiary of South Korea's Aekyung Group, has achieved a significant milestone by recommencing operations at its plasticizer plant situated in Ulsan, South Korea. This development follows a brief period of unscheduled repairs that took place from January 16 to 20. With an impressive overall production capacity of 450 thousand tons of plasticizers per year, the facility plays a vital role in the chemical manufacturing landscape.

The recent resurgence in operations at the plasticizer plant builds upon a prior announcement where Aekyung Petrochemical, as an integral part of the Aekyung Group, successfully resumed production at its phthalic anhydride plant, also located in Ulsan, South Korea. The scheduled maintenance activities at this specific facility, encompassing two production lines capable of producing 60 thousand tons and 20 thousand tons of phthalic anhydride per year, were initiated on August 28, 2023.

Phthalic anhydride, a key output of Aekyung Petrochemical's operations, plays a pivotal and versatile role across various industries.
